Mr. Harold Edwin Simmons, age 71, a resident of Texarkana, Arkansas, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in the Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas.

 

He was born January 08, 1941 in the Burg Community near Umpire, Arkansas. He was a member of the Beech Street Baptist Church in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was semi-retired and had an Ebay business selling cowboy boots.

 

Mr. Simmons was preceded in death by his parents, Johnie Bartley and Melissa Gerline Kesterson Simmons  

 

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Henson Simmons; three daughters and a son-in-law, Kim and Todd Carver of Falls Chapel, Arkansas, Debbie Turner of Ashdown, Arkansas and Teresa Thornton of Lockesburg, Arkansas; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Eliza Simmons of Ashdown, Arkansas; one brother and sister-in-law, Johnny Ray and Kathy Simmons of Dierks, Arkansas; one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Mike Carver of Lockesburg; four step children, Brenda Winchester, Mary Kay Stephens, James and Billy Mullino; sixteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives.  

 

Funeral Services for Mr. Simmons will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012 in the Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel in De Queen, Arkansas with Craig Jenkens and Bob Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Burg Cemetery under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.

 

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2012 at the funeral home.
